A "must" in Kampen / Sylt. Good owner, friendly staff .. good kitchen. Always well attended and not overpriced, as is usually the case on Sylt.
The waitress (boss?) Was the only one not wearing a protective mask. Instead of the decaffeinated cappucini that I ordered, two came with caffeine. The Wiener Schnitzel were good as always, as was the egg liqueur cake.
They have a really good schnitzel here! The restaurant is very cool, has nooks and crannies and has a nice charm.
Great service, delicious food, great wine. Can't understand the bad reviews.
I thought for a long time whether I should write a review about the restaurant. We are now back from vacation a few days, but the bad impression remains. To make it short; The restaurant only lives from its once good reputation - the service couldn't be more unfriendly and arrogant. The once grandiose Wiener Schnitzel is a shadow of itself and was served with cold, at best lukewarm fried potatoes. The crowning glory is the "Cover of Hope" for € 3.50 pp (including children). When asked about this, Ms. Regli only replied that everything is on the menu and that "if you can read, you have a clear advantage!". Well then... Fortunately, there are countless better restaurants on Sylt that know something about their craft!
We have been coming to Sylt since 1964 and now we have finally made it to "Manne Pahl" .... unfortunately .... for example. Veal meatball warmed up in the microwave! For a restaurant with these prices, it's wrong in the back and front ... never again! I cook a lot better at home!
Good card. Cakes delicious and staff friendly. Nicely furnished.
On the recommendation of friends we wanted to have dinner at Manne Pahl's. We called at 12.15pm to reserve a table for 6pm. The gentleman on the phone said there was no need to reserve. “Just come over. That’s okay. ”Now it turned out that we had already finished our day’s program at 4.30 p.m. and decided to go out to eat earlier. When we arrived at Manne Pahl at 4.45 p.m., we were told that the hot kitchen would not be available again until 5.30 p.m. Ok our mistake. You could have researched that. However, we were told that we should come back please. So we went for another walk and returned. Then we were asked if we had made a reservation. I beg your pardon? Of course we didn't because we were told on the phone and on site that it wasn't necessary to make reservations for the evening. It was ultimately denied that this phone call took place in this way. We like to go out to eat often, but nothing like this has happened to us yet. We won't try this restaurant. A small side note at the end: If you don't belong to the Inner Circle, you don't even seem to be greeted and your own greeting is only reluctantly returned.
Service was very nice. Prices should be reconsidered. I don't like to write more. Everyone should form their own opinion.
I used to really enjoy going to Manne Pahl, but what we were served there for breakfast yesterday was underground. If a menu includes a salmon sandwich for € 13.50, then I have expectations. But they weren't met either visually or in terms of taste. The bread was 2 slices of the cheapest toasted bread (purchase price in the discounter for 0.39 €?), In between a lettuce leaf, 1 slice of tomato and salmon were put in between. As if that wasn't bad enough, the salmon was still soaked in balsamic sauce. The rest of the order was similarly unmotivated and tasteless.
The plum cake tasted great and the cream was not an easily collapsed part. The service was a bit annoyed at the beginning. Allocation of seats for 4 people which is not good for us.
"The best schnitzel on the island" some say, "Much too overpriced ..." others. The truth is probably somewhere in between. Nice atmosphere and sensationally good cake!
That was really excellent home-style food served by very good service. A good wine and our last evening was a good end to the holiday.
Coffe was nice.
We visited the Manne Pahl in Kampen on recommendation and were unfortunately not particularly satisfied overall. The prices on Sylt are known to be high, but around 7 EUR for a large beer or a large cola are almost on par with a 5-star hotel. In addition, 3.50 EUR per guest will be charged for the cover, but I will leave this uncommented. Most of all, it's about the food and the quality. We really like to spend a lot of money on exceptionally good food, in this case it was a lot of money on very average food. An example is the burger on offer, which is served with French fries and costs just under EUR 25. The french fries are too salty and the meat of the burger is fried much more than just "well done". The toppings like cheese, tomatoes and lettuce are not particularly and usual standard. The burger bun way too firm. Unfortunately, the truffle mayonnaise as a sauce for the burger didn't tear it out either, it is very likely that the mayonnaise only contained a truffle aroma instead of real truffle. Conclusion: the overall taste of the food was okay, but only average. The price-performance ratio is unfortunately not right here at all.
Had dinner at Manne Pahl's this evening. The reception at the door and the blonde waitress were very unfriendly. The 1st part of our meal was served very rude and unprofessional by this lady. We had the feeling that we were not wanted here. At the negative end of our visit, we found that a so-called cover charge of € 3.50 per person was added to the bill. Reason: "Corona, it is noted on the card". This has not yet been recorded in any restaurant on Sylt that we have been to. If you want to spend a pleasant holiday evening, this restaurant is definitely not recommended.
The two of us spontaneously had breakfast here. Breakfast is delicious and of high quality. It is a classic Sylt breakfast. We had made another reservation for breakfast during the week. Reservation could not be held because the opening times were changed at short notice. We were not informed about it and ended up standing in front of the locked door - a shame and disappointing from the service.
VAT reduction was not passed on to the customer !!!! Very cozy location. Hygiene measures were implemented well. The size of the portions are unfortunately too small. The quality is okay. I expected a little more.
We came by bike here by accident. We stopped for a cake for a cappuccino. To say that, the cappuccino is perfect and the cake is ingenious ... The price is also perfectly reasonable. Cappuccino four euro piece of cake 4.50 € And as already said in an excellent quality. Then we rummaged through the menu because we still feel like a cold drink. I myself am a trained cook and have absolute understanding that, for example, a crab soup is offered for € 11.50. If you take into account the purchase price for crabs, preparation and so on. Only what I do not understand, with what justification and in what ratio is 7.20 € for a King Ludwig Hefeweizen asked ???? This really borders on usury. The conditions there are simply no longer correct. Too bad ...
Delicious cake!!! Best of Sylt 🍰
Schnitzel is amazing. You should definitely get the big portion can still get a doggy bag in case you can't finish and enjoy the rest the next day :)
Top Location, super Sevice Empfelenswert
Very good restaurant with very tasty dishes, staff friendly. Unfortunately, there are also points of criticism, the knife is not changed for the fish ... On the website the dogs are welcomed with water and treats. In reality there is unfortunately nothing ... There is still room for improvement here.
The restaurant is centrally located and parking spaces are right outside the door! The ambience is sober and clean. The meal consists of a clearly laid out menu and a constantly changing daily menu. The dishes are very good and fresh. The food comes quickly and together. The waiters were very friendly and brisk. The desserts consist of many different cakes that are really delicious. All very fresh! In terms of price, the Manne Pahl is more in the upper price segment. All in all a good place to eat well and spend a nice evening.
Tip top
Great!
Tolle Location
Delicious dinner and a friendly service!
Reputedly the best Wiener Schnitzel on Sylt, and I certainly haven't tasted better. The service is friendly and attentive, and the prices are more than reasonable for the area. In the afternoon there is coffee and delicious home made gateaux, and in the evening the place turns into a high class restaurant. Well worth checking out!
